Searching the Carroll County Court Docket
Search ARCourts is where a Carroll County court docket search starts. One lookup can return the parties, the judge, Docket Entries, charges and dispositions, Future Events, judgments, and links to some public documents. Coverage stops short of everything. Arkansas notes that only some District Courts supply public case data, and a linked document is not promised for every docket line.
Search wide at first. Carroll County runs Eastern and Western Circuit districts plus several District Court departments, so a narrow court-location filter can hide the result you need. Keep the punctuation when you already know a case number. If the matter began in District Court, use the court named on the citation.
- Choose Cases for a case or citation number, or Participants for a name.
- Set County Name to Carroll but leave Court Location broad for the first search.
- Open the result and read Docket Entries, Future Events, charges, and judgments as separate blocks.
- Remove date, type, and location filters if no match appears, then try the other search mode.
- Call the filing clerk for a missing case, an urgent setting, or an authoritative copy.
Search ARCourts for Carroll County Dockets
The official Search ARCourts form shows the public entry point, two search modes, and the fields each one offers. Cases mode takes a case or citation number. Participants mode is different. It offers first, middle, and last name fields, plus an organization or case-description field, date of birth, and driver-license details when the filing court entered and linked them.
How long a name is changes the match. One or two letters are treated as exact, while three or more return exact and partial matches alike. Organization searches can be brittle. The Judiciary suggests putting one or two key organization words in the Last Name field if the exact organization description fails.
| Search field | Best use | Carroll County caution |
|---|---|---|
| Case Number | Known Circuit or District case | Keep punctuation and the E or W marker |
| Citation Number | Known ticket | District participation is conditional |
| Participant Name | Person or organization | Start countywide before choosing a department |
| Court Location | Narrow a large result set | Use only after checking east, west, and District routes |
Note: Treat a statewide result as an informational lead. The clerk remains the source for a current or certified Carroll County record.
Inside a Carroll County Court Docket
Think of a Carroll County court docket as an index, not the whole file. Docket Entries list accepted activity in date order. Future Events show settings that are scheduled to occur. Charges and Dispositions describe accusations and recorded outcomes in a criminal matter, and Judgments identify court determinations. A linked filing is a document image. A missing link, though, does not mean the filing is absent from the clerk's file.
Read each part on its own terms. A docket line saying an order was entered will not supply every term of that signed order. A payment balance does not prove the full disposition. When exact language matters, note the entry title and date, then ask the custodian for the filed document.
| Case Number | The court's unique identifier, including the local district clue when present. |
|---|---|
| Parties | The people or entities formally named in the case. |
| Docket Entries | The chronological index of filings, orders, and other recorded acts. |
| Future Events | Upcoming settings, subject to later reset or cancellation. |
| Charges or Judgment | The accusation and outcome blocks appropriate to the case type. |
| Document Link | An available public image, not a guarantee that all filed items are online. |
Carroll County Docket Case Number Clues
Official Carroll County orders carry civil numbers such as 08ECV-22-19 and 08WCV-24-95. The county code is 08. E and W mark the Eastern and Western judicial districts, CV flags a civil matter, and the remaining digits give the year and sequence. Carroll County publishes no full local code sheet. So never expand an unfamiliar abbreviation by guesswork.
- Docket Entry
- A dated index line recording activity; it may not include the document text.
- Future Event
- A scheduled court event that can later be continued or reset.
- Disposition
- The recorded resolution of a case or individual charge.
- Certified Copy
- A reproduction authenticated by the clerk or other legal custodian.
Geography matters as much as the digits. The Kings River separates Carroll County's Eastern and Western Circuit jurisdictions. Green Forest has its own District Court department. Holiday Island cases route to Eureka Springs, and the Carroll portion of Alpena belongs to a separate judicial district.
Note: Preserve every letter and punctuation mark. Give a Carroll County case number to the portal or filing clerk exactly as written.
Courts That Keep Dockets in Carroll County
Arkansas stacks its courts in a fixed order. The Supreme Court and Court of Appeals sit above Circuit Court and State District Court. Carroll County alone forms the Nineteenth East Judicial Circuit. Its Circuit Court is the general-jurisdiction trial court. It handles felonies, major civil disputes, domestic relations, juvenile matters, probate jurisdiction, and appeals from District Court. Local District Court departments keep the traffic, ordinance, misdemeanor, preliminary felony, limited civil, and small-claims matters. The Arkansas Circuit Court overview describes the subject divisions. Those divisions belong to one constitutional court, not unrelated courts with interchangeable clerks.
Under this statewide structure, each Carroll County Circuit subject division sits inside the same general-jurisdiction court. District Court keeps its own limited docket alongside it.
| Court or office | Docket covers | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| Nineteenth East Circuit Court | Felony, major civil, domestic, juvenile, District appeals | Search ARCourts, then Circuit Clerk |
| Berryville Department | City and Eastern county traffic, misdemeanor, civil, small claims | Department clerk, 870-423-6247 |
| Eureka Springs Department | City, Western county, Holiday Island, civil, small claims | Department clerk, 479-253-8574 |
| Green Forest Department | City traffic, misdemeanor, ordinance matters | Department clerk, 870-438-5866 |
| Alpena Department, Fourth District | Alpena matters involving the Carroll portion | Chief clerk, 870-849-8602 |
| County and Probate Clerk | Estate instruments, guardianships, confidential adoptions | Local probate clerk |
Carroll County Dockets Split East and West
Carroll County has kept two judicial districts since 1883. The Eastern Circuit Clerk counter sits in Berryville; the Western counter is in Eureka Springs. One Circuit judge serves both districts, and the official Circuit judge directory names the current Nineteenth East assignment.
This split is more than a branch-office choice. A request mailed to the wrong seat can delay file retrieval. A narrow portal filter can cause a false negative. So identify the E or W notation, the court location, and the filing office before requesting a copy. The Western courthouse in Eureka Springs dates to 1908. The county's earlier courthouse fires left no official inventory tying particular record books to the loss.
How to Find Court Dates and Settings
Carroll County publishes no live, standalone county calendar. Start with the citation or the newest notice. Then open the case in Search ARCourts. Compare Future Events against the latest Docket Entry that could reflect a reset. Confirm the date with the filing clerk after that. The detailed Carroll County Court Dates page separates the recurring District Court schedule from a case-specific command to appear.
Berryville, Eureka Springs, and Green Forest follow recurring session patterns set out in the Third District administrative plan. Those patterns help with planning, but they never override an order, notice, or citation. Alpena posts no current session schedule. Search ARCourts technical support can help with portal access. Yet only the filing court can confirm which setting controls a live case.
Note: Use a recurring calendar only for planning. Then confirm the current setting from the case notice and filing clerk.
Carroll County Docket Dates Without Live Calendars
One Carroll County docket entry raises eyebrows. A Berryville civil and small-claims hearing shows a start time of 11:00 PM. Night court has never been announced by any official source. Before you treat that hour as real, call the Berryville clerk at 870-423-6247 and ask. The same caution applies any time a portal event clashes with a newer notice on the court calendar.
Newest source controls the next check. Keep the old docket event as history, but use the latest notice, order, Future Event, and clerk confirmation to identify the current setting.
A continuance only moves a setting. It does not erase the earlier entry or mean the case is over. The county also posts no Zoom link, coordinator directory, or weather-reset page. So a phone call has to fill that gap. When weather, a reset, or an odd time raises doubt, call the assigned court before you travel.
Public Access to Court Dockets
Arkansas opens most court records to the public. But the access has real limits. Judicial case records answer to Administrative Order 19. That order matters more here than the general Arkansas Freedom of Information Act. Statutes, court rules, and standing orders can shield material too. The public copy also strips protected identifiers. So an online docket summary may say less than the full file the office holds.
Key Arkansas access rules:
Administrative Order 19 governs public access and exclusions for court records.
Administrative Order 19.1 requires protected data to be redacted from the public version.
Administrative Order 21 governs electronic filing without making confidential material public.
Arkansas Code § 9-27-309 permits closure of juvenile records and protects adoption material.
An eligible criminal record can be sealed. That makes it confidential rather than destroyed. A search that returns nothing has other explanations as well. Some District data never joins the statewide index. Old files and overly tight filters hide cases too. An empty online result, by itself, never proves a case did not exist.
Note: Public access does not guarantee remote access to every filed image or to information protected by law or court order.
Carroll County Docket Access Versus eFlex
Arkansas eFlex handles filing, not the general public Carroll County court docket. A user may see a case summary. That takes an account, the county, and a case number. Counsel of record generally gets broader remote access to electronically filed documents. For everyone else, Search ARCourts is the public starting point. A file may not be imaged. An authenticated copy may be needed. In both cases the clerk is still the source.
Three layers, three different products. Docket Entries form the free informational index. The filed pleadings, motions, orders, and judgments are the actual documents. Their images may not be online. A certified copy is yet another item, authenticated by the office that keeps the record. Printing a portal screen or a linked order gives you none of that authentication.
Docket Records at the Clerk's Office
Circuit Clerk Sara Huffman keeps the Circuit Court docket. Her office prepares dockets and records orders and judgments. It also holds pending and past case files and dispositions. The county's Recorder page assigns the office court docket cases, judgments, and liens. You can check circuit records through Search ARCourts, at the right counter, by phone, or by mail once you confirm the district and request terms.
Eastern Circuit matters go to 210 W. Church Ave., P.O. Box 71, Berryville, AR 72616, 870-423-2422. Western matters go to 44 S. Main, P.O. Box 109, Eureka Springs, AR 72632, 479-253-8646. Both counters keep 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Both also answer to circuitclerk@carrollcountyar.org. The county posts no court-copy form, per-page price, certification fee, payment list, ID rule, or turnaround time.

Carroll County Docket Clerk Routing
Not every Carroll County docket sits with the Circuit Clerk. The County and Probate Clerk handles estate instruments and guardianships. Adoption records stay confidential. Other case types start elsewhere. Traffic, ordinance, misdemeanor, small-claims, and limited civil cases begin with the District Court clerk for the department that handled them.
The official District Court directory lays out the local departments and their clerks. Holiday Island has no separate court department. It routes to Eureka Springs. Alpena's Carroll County department sits in the Fourth District. It is not in the Third District shared by Carroll and Madison.
When you request a copy, be specific. Give the exact case number, the district or department, the public case style, the document title, the Docket Entry date, and whether you need a plain or certified copy. Ask about price, payment, identification, delivery, and turnaround before sending money or driving over.
Carroll County Docket Technology Since 2013
Carroll Circuit Court adopted the Contexte case-management system on December 9, 2013. The statewide Circuit rollout finished by 2019. eFlex grew through eFlex Lite in 2020. No Carroll-specific launch date is published. Search ARCourts started replacing Public CourtConnect in 2024.
Each tool does a different job. Contexte is the case-management lineage. Search ARCourts is the current public search interface. eFlex takes electronic filings. Older cases and past dispositions remain the Circuit Clerk's responsibility. Official sources publish no universal online start date, archive cutoff, or local microfilm inventory.
Geography matters here too. Carroll County spreads across nearly 630 square miles and two courthouse seats. Picking the right court is more than a technical detail. It decides which clerk can confirm a date, pull an old file, or authenticate a record.
Carroll County Court Dockets by City
City size does not pick the courthouse. Berryville, Green Forest, and Eureka Springs each host District Court departments. Holiday Island out-populates Eureka Springs on the common 2020 Census measure. Yet its police matters go to Eureka Springs. Alpena lies partly inside Carroll County but follows a Fourth District route. Each local page keeps those venue differences visible.
Berryville Docket Search
5,682 residents in 2020; Eastern county seat with separate Circuit, District, and payment-counter addresses.
Green Forest Docket Search
2,972 residents in 2020; local District department with Friday setting patterns.
Holiday Island Docket Search
2,533 residents in 2020; police cases route to Eureka Springs.
Eureka Springs Docket Search
2,166 residents in 2020; Western county, city, civil, and Holiday Island matters.
Alpena Docket Search
About 377 residents municipality-wide; the Carroll portion belongs to the Fourth District.
Use the court printed on your citation or notice when the city route is unclear. The city name alone is not a safe guide. A District Court appeal must be filed on time under Rule 9. It also requires a certified docket sheet. Confirm the receiving Circuit venue instead of guessing from the city.
Map and Directions to the Carroll County Courthouses
Carroll County keeps two Circuit Clerk counters, split by the Kings River into Eastern and Western jurisdictions. Eastern District circuit files are kept at the Berryville courthouse, 210 W. Church Ave., while Western District circuit files are kept at the Eureka Springs courthouse, 44 S. Main, a building with roots in the 1908 Western District courthouse. Identify which district filed the case before choosing which counter to visit.

Official sources do not state whether either courthouse offers a public-access terminal, staff-assisted search, parking, or security-screening rules, so call the responsible counter before traveling. Do not confuse either Circuit Clerk counter with the Circuit judge's chambers or with a city District Court department, which keep separate addresses and records.
